As a professionally trained Birth and Postpartum Doula, I know how to support women and families during pregnancy, labor, birth and postpartum. A Doula does not replace the important role of the father, partner or other family members. I am there to guide both of you through the process. I can suggest specific ways your partner can help you, while respecting the intimacy of your experience together during labor and postpartum.
I know how to work with hospital staff and advocate for your needs. Anyone preparing for the experience of labor and delivery can benefit from a birth doula, not just someone planning on natural labor. I can help people desiring a epidural assisted birth, a cesarean, a vaginal birth after cesarean or a homebirth.
As a Postpartum Doula, I provide help and support in the first few months after becoming a mother. I provide non-judgmental informational support about feeding and caring for the baby. I provide physical support by cleaning, cooking meals and filling in when a new mother needs a break. I also provide emotional support by encouraging a mother and partner during those times when she might be feeling overwhelmed.
